Earn Tax Credits for Supporting Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity of Madison County (HFHMC) has a limited amount of Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits available to supporters who make a charitable donation of at least $100 starting July 1, 2019. The state NAP credits were established to encourage gifts to organizations like Habitat that serve low-income residents and communities.

When you reserve credits and make a donation to HFHMC by the end of 2019, you will receive a state tax credit equal to 50 percent of the gift — in addition to any federal tax deductions you claim for charitable contributions.

So a $500 gift will lower your state tax liability by $250, AND you can still include the entire donation on your federal return. Talk about stretching your dollar!

HFHMC is one of only two local non-profits serving Madison County awarded the NAP credit donation option. They rely on donations to fund their construction and recycling of decent, affordable housing for low-to-moderate income families. Through your support, HFH also is an active partner in the Sweet 16 Quality of Life plan working to revitalize neighborhoods in the 46016 ZIP code, which includes over 40 businesses, schools, churches, organizations, and residential properties.

Reserve your NAP tax credit today and make a donation to help HFH build community in Madison County. Tax credits are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so it pays to act now.
